I'm looking for a notebook, for around £400 or less which has a good hard drive and is quite fast, and is wireless ready i did want a macbook but there around £741 and i have a limit of £400 if you can find me a decent notebook with the above thing's i would be extremely greatfull and if it's a good apple mac laptop i will be for ever in your debt
Are Dell's expenice over in the U.K,.? You can get a Dell over in the States for around $600.
if you can get dell, go dell, they are probably the best pcs. If you cant go dell, try hp. Or if you need ease of use go (blech) apple.
While Dells are great PCs they tend to feel a little cheap to me (unless you dish out the cash), also they have a bad track record when it comes to running vista.
If you want a good notebook for a low price, look into Gateway. They've had issues in the past but they keep getting better. I have a Gateway T1625 that I got for about $499 USD refurbished and it's fantastick.
Good Luck

Sorry, but site promotion is not allowed in these forums.
That's why I deleted your post.

Isn't the suggestion of "Get a Dell" implicitly promoting dell.com? I'm not trying to nit pick. I'm just pointing out that a question such as the OP asked almost begs for some kind of "site promotion" of a particular brand, whether the site is spelled out or not. So, it's kind of hard to avoid it.

Debt Consolidation was not the issue here, and I will remove any post advertising such schemes unless they are specifically related to the thread discussion.
You really want these forums littered with that type of post?
Mark
No, I don't want the site littered with that type of post. However, since you deleted the entire post --and I never saw the original--I assumed it was a post pointing to a certain place to buy a certain pc.
For example, I thought it might have been "go to www.blahblahblah and get a gread deal on suchandsuch laptop!". That was, I think, a logical assumption on my part given the subject of the thread.
Comprendo?
unless we are a little slow in removing them, ![]()

The dell option worked for me, (new Dell Vostro 1400) but have you considered second hand?, in Australia we got a mess load of pawn shops and in the main city of Brisbane at least 4 I can remember off the top of my head. They always have a range of laptops ( Mac and Pc) hocked or sold outright ( by yuppies ) and some of the gear that shows up is a valid option for those on a budget but remember “let the buyer beware” cause warranties don’t really exist and its creepy what’s on some hard drives.
Ps, keep away from net books the damm things are virtually crippled from birth.
