I have a Lenovo Thinkpad, about 1 year old and two digital cameras. When I email pictures I can only send 2 or maybe 3 at a time. If I send more they just don't go. I'm running Windows XP Pro and am wondering if there's something that can be changed so I can send more than a couple pics at a time.
Thanks,
Judy R
Unless you reduce the quality (and therefore file size) of the photos your best option is to use a service such as Photobucket, where you can upload your photos online and then just e-mail friends/family the link to the uploaded album.
John
John,
How do I do that?
Thanks,

Jonah gave you a link to how to upload images to Photobucket, but if you mean "How do I reduce the size of images/photos?", then read on. ![]()
Just in case you don't know, all files stored on your computer have a file extension. It is normally 3 characters, (letters and/or numbers), to the end of a file name.
For example, if I have a word processing document saved on my hard disk with the name "Lettertobank", it will have an extension that makes the whole file name, "Lettertobank.doc". The .doc tells the Operating System, (OS), that this is a Microsoft Word Processor file, eg a .doc file.
These extensions are important to the OS as they tell it what type of files they are, and what application/software is required to open those files.
If you cannot see the file extensions in your My Documents, or My Pictures, or My Music, etc, (or any type of 'Explorer' window), then you need to change some settings in Explorer.
To do that, open your My Computer icon, and goto Tools > Folder options, then click the View tab. In this window, find the entry for "Hide extensions for known file types", remove the tick, and click Apply/OK.
Now, when you goto to the location where your images/photos are stored, you should see the file names with their file extensions. If you use My Pictures to see those files, temporarily change the view option from Thumbnails to Details. The window will now show your full file names as well as the size of each file.
There are a few different types of image and photo files, for example, .bmp .jpg (or .jpeg) .gif to name just a few.
Of those 3 most common types, it is Bitmaps, (.bmp), that are clearly the larger files, and they can indeed be huge files. If your image/photos are all .bmp's, then you need to reduce their file size to something like .jpg type files.
You will lose some quality in the images, but the file size is dramatically smaller.
There are a number of image editing softwares available to change the file type, and some will do 'batch conversions', but if you want to try converting a single image file yourself, open up your MSPaint application, (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint), then goto File > Open, navigate to where you have saved these files, select one, and click Open.
All you have to do is then go back to file, click Save As, and then change the file type it is to be saved as to JPEG (*.JPG), You probably will not even have to change the file name.
Once the files are smaller, you may then be able to email more of them.
I hope that helps.

Thank you, Mark.
I'll check into all of this. Thanks for the help. My usual computer guru is very busy now with his new twins.

No, twin boys. But he's an IT guy so he probably feels like it's twins or triplets when he's at work!
Thanks again for the help.
