It took me a while to get the nerve to do it but I finally rebooted my computer.I think I got it right but it didn't go down as advertized.I now have my osx on untitled. Is that right or did I mess up again?I was speaking with mr macfixit and thought I had everything down but the gear icon never appeared.I just scrubbed the bsd download and redid it on the disk option offered. It now shows an icon of a drive with untitled as the wording. Is there any way to tell if it's on the hard drive?
Untitled is the default name of a drive that has been initialized (formatted) without the user filling in a name for the drive.
If OS X is running for you now, then all is well. You might want to take a look at Disk Utility and see if you managed to get the drive formatted as Mac OS X extended(journaled) or HFS+(Journaled) as advised.
You might also want to post your Mac questions in the Mac forums, you can generally be sure of getting an answer.
I only saw this after it was alerted by another Mod. I would not normally be wandering around in the Computer Help forum
P
All is as you asked and you made my day.I can't begin to thank you enough.
