Just jumped to cnn.com to take a small break today when a cool apple banner ad was presented.
Apple guy across the top in a banner ad, windows guy down the right hand side. An interactive "I'm an apple, I'm a pc" ad.
cool! and I don't even own one!
This is the most creative web ad that I have ever seen.
While their at it maybe CNN can stuff more ads on their front page! You can never have enough flashing/blinking/dancing advertising!!!
Thank God for FF and ad blocking plugins.
Awhile ago, CNET.com homepage had one, it was impressive and cool!
Very clever!
dpo they have to pay twice? lol
..on CNET homepage. Did CNET "request" this ad? Just that it looks like it needs special reprogramming of the homepage. Also it doesn't seem to be on a rotation like other ads. It looks like it's there for a while as it doesn't change on page refreshes. Just wondering is all?
David
Online ads get such a bad rep...but it's just like TV advertising. Do something inspiring, and people will notice. This campaign is incredibly clever, with two great gimmicks--the interaction between the ad spaces and PC dragging the physical story into place.
Because of how they do them you can't just link to them when the rare occasion comes along that you enjoy one.
That is Apple's last stand before Windows 7 send a crushing blow to Apple's Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
