When I first bought this laptop the mute button would be white and then turn orange when you touched it, but now it is always orange.
Anyone else having this issue?
The laptop is a HP Pavilion DV5-1002nr
this, unmute via the volume control panel.
I have tried everything.
It is a software issue and HP walked me through correcting it and it sort of worked for a little while, but now it is back to being stuck as always being orange.
It does not effect the sound, but would really like to have it back to being white.
see if hp has a new driver/update out for the sound card.
In all cases, keep calling HP. Be prepared to wipe and reload the machine.
i had a similar problem with my machine and I went to the HP site where I spoke to a support Rep and he sent me a link to download some drivers.... I followed the steps and my machine is working quite fine.So maybe you could try that route
