The Google Chrome Browser.

My first impression is that we'll see it use all the RAM you have in your new PC. Each tab has it's own process. While that will cure some browser hangs and bangs, those with minimal configurations will likely yelp.

Think of it this way...

It's from the folks who brought us Google Syndication and insisted that placing the word "privacy" on its homepage is actually harmful to its users. What could go wrong? :|

Sounds like adware and spyware in their purest forms. I've read friendlier sounding CC Agreements.

Google Chrome fast or only half fast?

by peeskieeskie - 9/6/08 12:03 AM In reply to: Read: "Be sure to read Chrome's fine print" by caktus

Theres no question that Google Chrome is faster than anything I have seen, that is after you figure out where to find or insert the URL or what-ever-else needs to be done to get you to where you want to be. Once you push the key stroke or mouse button to initiate the action its done before you notice that the screen has changed. Its probably just because I'm so used to other browsers and all the clutter on the screen yelling for me to "choose me, choose me" that I've forgotten how to use the keyboard and rely on just left clicking to get me there. I think when I relearn how to navigate the web it will truely be like lightning in a bottle. It seems to me the speed of chrome is only limited by the mind and fingers of the user. So regardless of all the test and benchmark reports, its now up to the iindividual.

I tried it - no whoopie here

by Willy - 9/6/08 12:41 PM In reply to: The Google Chrome Browser. by R. Proffitt Moderator

It seems to be lacking some features. I wanted to stop a webpage load, I killed it instead. Tried the hide mode or whatever they called it, I don't know if it really was hiding me. Then, I checked the history and i couldn't bookmark it to my liking. It seems too much in the now factor, I don't know a better way to explain it. Oh yeah, the quips it gives instead of error or miscue, "aw snap" comes to mind. maybe, I need to play with it some more, but I don't feel its leaps and bounds better than anything else. MAYBE, I'm too old skool. -----Willy :
