The other posts are correct as far as Vista 32bit goes with available memory displayed. Your system also includes an integrated graphics chipset (video card) that uses part of the installed ram for its own use. That allocated ram will be "deducted" from the available system memory before windows displays how much you have available. Vista SP1 will allow windows to display "all" of the installed ram trough the properties tab of "My Computer""
