I bought this TV from circuit city thinking that it would pick up digital channels without an external antenna but when i run the auto config it doesn't find anything. So do i need an antenna or am i doing something wrong? I don't know all that much about the HD i really bought it to use the D-Sub as a second monitor but was hoping for the over the air digital.
Thanks
"So do i need an antenna or am i doing something wrong" just like anything else over the air, its pretty hard to pick up the signals without an antenna.
It's crazy- if you actually look at the product description of the television you bought under built in tuners, it says it will recieve digital channels with the use of an antenna.
People who do research and buy TVs based on specs and functions go home happy.
People who reasearch cost and buy TVs based on cost complain.
Ok so i wasn't complaining at all i was making sure i understood what i needed. I have satellite service but i was just checking to make sure i couldn't get the other the air stuff. Remember the days when everything came with a purchase, like an antenna. I do. AND if you read the first post it is mostly for a dual monitor anyway calm down just asking a question. Sorry for "complaining"
I have NEVER heard of a tv that doesn't require an antenna unless one uses cable or sat.
Also, does this tv have a built-in digital tuner? If not then maybe it's not worth going for HD
It does, CC stopped selling TV's without digital tuners about a year and a half ago, and even pulled the ones that didn't from their shelves.
