Cell phones: LG DARE vs Iphone

I just got the IPhone

I have had the iphone for about a week. I'm still learning how to navigate. Here is what I like so far:

1. Pretty easy to use. Some items take a while to remember how to work them, but it is getting easier with time and practice. My Verizon phone took me two weeks or more to finally get familiar with it.
This seems a little more straightforward.

2. nice features in general and convenient to have wherever I go. It is nice to have internet... My internet on Verizon was a joke, although I am sure they will eventually catchup in order to compete. I gave my phone to one son who is still on verizon... he is delighted!

3. keyboard is convenient but takes a while to get used to. My fingers don't always hit the right key.

4. The GPS feature it nice but I wish it talked as well so I don't have to look down at it when I am driving.

5. The email feature is also nice to have. Not all my email accounts worked smoothly when I tried them, but then I don't need to have all of them with me; I am rearranging my email boxes so I get less junk on the phone and only get the essential emails I need while I am out and about. My roadrunner accounts on my home network are not particularly received well thru the att network, but aol, mobileme work great.

6. The Ical is terrific especially when used in conjunction with mobileme so that the calendar is in sync
with other computers at home.

7. The app store is nice, although my first downloaded free app seemed to conflict with the software in that some other items did not work correctly. I had to redo the phone software.

8. Despite the complaints about the lower lens quality of the camera, I find it works great and haven't so far felt I needed a flash. The only difficulty is holding the phone still enough while capturing the photo.

9. The instant stock reports is also a very convenient feature.

What I don't like:
1. It is a little more bulky than most other cell phones. It doesn't fit into my phone holders like those that are attached to some purses. When I wear a dress or slacks with no pockets, and I don't have a purse with me, I have no where to put it. I did however devise a way to hang it around my neck when I am walking. I know there are arm bands available, and maybe I'll try one, but even that looks a little bulky. On the other hand it fits nicely in my husbands pants or shirt pocket. It is slightly more bulky to hold onto when using it as a phone.

2. The Batteries wear down really quickly, even with the Gps turned off. I have a set up in the car now where I can recharge it while traveling.

3. The monthly bill is a bit more costlier than I thought it would be. I am going to charge my two adult children for their portion of the bill. I am not sure if this will be more of a luxury than I want, but time will tell.

4. I am disappointed that this phone and ATT do not include voice dial. I assumed it would because I had it with Verizon as part of the deal. I bought a blue tooth earphone for driving, but I still have to manually dial a number. It is unsafe, to do that, and voice dial would take care of it. ATT wants another $4.99 a month (+ tax,fee I imagine) for that service, which I do believe should be included. I will be contacting ATT about this matter, to be sure. And the more people that do, the more likely that feature will be included in the package.

5. I must have a lot more interference in my house than I thought. The ATT bar signal is low, although I do get good reception on the phone. The wifi signal, if I use wifi, is very low. I probably don't need it but was told by the ATT that using wifi would speed things up a bit. NOT sure I have found it to be true.

I have to remind myself that although this device acts like a computer, it is not, and it is still a phone!!
One cannot cut and paste like on a computer, which I have to admit would be a nice feature to have.
