Need information about anti-virus programmes!!

(I want it to stop viruses, trojan horses, adware, spyware etc).
Please inform me...

You can click to sort by Cnet rating if you like. I have the following programs, all for free, and they keep my system clean. Anti-spyware: Ad-Aware SE Personal, Ewido, Spyware Blaster and Spybot Search & Destroy. Anti-virus: AVG. Firewall: Zone Alarm Free Version. TweakNow Reg Cleaner and CCleaner to clean out junk stuff.

It's 'light' on the computer resources and nothing has got past it in the years I've been using it. If you're on the 'net' all the time, i.e., DSL, etc., the program's automatic with pattern updates, etc. It's the best 'paid for' antivirus program out there and support is fantastic! Norton and McAfee don't come close to Trend Micro, in my humble opinion. They're both bloated and Houdini couldn't 'uninstall' all of Norton if he was still alive.

Comodo is just as good, but uses much fewer resources and does not 'phone home' like ZA does. You can get Comodo here in CNET or at their own site. Just do a search using the term "Comodo Firewall".

Does it scan incoming and outgoing email? If so there may be a conflict problem because AVAST anti virus does that also.

But any of the "big 3 freebies", Avast, AVG, and Avira will stop most of them most of the time.
There are also some extremely good paid applications around.
And there are a few things that are recommended to do to your system, and strategies to adopt for web browsing, that can make the likelihood of getting malware remote.
What is your OS, what RAM and CPU, how involved do you want to be with your security (hands on, or let the AV do it all), and how much do you want to spend?

All have been effective in tests. While nothing is 100%, these will run light on your machine.

The best that I have seen and that I am useing right now is Trend Micro anti viris and Internet security, It is not heavy and runs pretty well and doing a very good job. value for money and can install into 3 computers.
