Hi, I own a restaurant and i wanted to offer free public wifi to my customers. But I don't want my customers to access my computers that are on the network. If there is a way to do this please let me know. Also if there is a program that can do this, so that i can also see who is connected to my network. Another thing i would like to do is offer a welcome screen to all the computers that connect to the network. Thank for all your Help. Some Specs: Computer is Windows XP - Router D-Link DI-524... Please let me know what I need to do to make this work.
Thank You!
To keep others out of your machines, DO NOT turn on File and Printer Sharing.

This comes down to a question of security. If you want the average user to not have access to your computers, then you can try the software solution but the best way for you to keep the work computers separate from the constomer's computers is to have them on independent networks. If I were going to offer this type of service, I would have a separate line come into the building to supply internet for the wireless access point and run my business computers on a different line. This type of setup would leave your work computers no more vulnerable then they are right now.
Thanks for all your help, I will try these out, but if someone has more ideas on this topic please let me know! (I prefer some kind of software where i can monitor users and such)
Again Thanks
