I am looking at buying my first PC. I will use it for mainly gaming and watching TV/DVD's. My price range is between $3000-$4000 including the monitor. I was planning on buying in the US and shipping it to Australia as the price difference is massive. I am having a bit of trouble because most sites allow you to customize and im not to sure what I should be doing. Any help? I have been lokking at the Alienware site are they alright for value?
Alienware systems are no better or worse than the system you build yourself but you are paying for the convenience of them building it and you are definitly paying for the name. They use high end components so you are getting a good PC but you can buy the components yourself and put them together for a fraction of the cost. If you have a friend or someone that might be able to assist you in building a computer, I would definitly look into that before I shelled out the money that an alienware machine is going to cost.
AlienWare system are excellent but I find them to be pricey because of their name you're paying for. Hp's Blackird or GateWay's FX are pretty nice and cheaper than AlienWare if you want to save a few bucks.
