1) CRT or LCD ?
2) In the case of LCDs is it the Non TFTs or the TFTs that last longer ?
There's probably inconclusive historical data at this point as CRTs are old technology while LCDs are still evolving and improving in many areas. There are working CRTs out there that were produced well before LCDs reached the mainstream user. But, just how well do these work and how do you measure useful life? CRTs often dim and blur before they die altogether. The user gets to make a decision if it's worth keeping or getting rid of.
But, if I was giving choice of buying one or the other and told that, when it died, I would also die at the same time, I'd get a CRT of the best reputed brand as I could...and still would be dripping with sweat every day from there on. ![]()
