Network Magic or FolderShare?

by djr1904 - 8/6/08 2:22 PM

I've got the new laptop and new wireless router all set up and ready to go. But before I load my files on to the laptop, I've been wondering what I gain by using software like Network Magic rather than just using FolderShare to share files among computers.

I'd appreciate it if someone could articulate what the real difference is and what additional functionality I would gain by using the network rather than just FolderShare. Because I'm having a tough time determining that in my own research. Thanks.

You don't have to learn the ins, outs and frustrations of Windows Networking. All these do is shield us from learning to do this on our own. Sort of like automatic transmission vs. clutch and gears.

with Gbridge (http://gbridge.com), you can share/sync files/foldes securely among your own computers and your close friends, through Google network. In addition it has powerful browse function that allow you to browse remote folder, play slideshow or play music instantly even before you decide to download/sync.

It even has built-in vnc allow you to remote control your computer orcollaborate with your friends.

It is tiny(1.8MB) but very powerful and easy to use. Need a google id to run,
only has windows version though.

good luck!

forget to mention that gbridge ( http://gbridge.com ) is free. gbridge also does automatic NAT-penetration, so you don't worry whether your computers are behind NAT, like skype, it just works.
