I don't want to use a heavy duty application just to write notes to myself, so is there a simple word processor like WordPad with a built in spell checker?
Please don't suggest Open Office & I have Word Pefect already & both are too powerfu for simple & quick notes.
Thanks!
(a) spelling errors in your own notes meant for yourself?
(b) a too powerful tool?
Personally, I couldn't care less. Obviously you do.

Often, I write personal notes with the intention of later posting them to forums.
I like to organize my thoughts before I send comments to public forums such as this.
Often, I'll save thoughts to put into a later fully fledged public, non personal post.
Does that make more sense?
I have no problems with WordPad other then needing a spell checker in it.
I only need the advanced functions of Word Perfect when I need to compose formal messages where image really counts.
But I just don't know of such a program. Sorry.
However, Firefox comes with spellcheck. That would cover posting in public forums after you compiled the first version in Notepad or Wordpad.

Off the top of my head, AbiWord comes to mind. While it's quite capable as a word processor, it's still pretty light weight.
There's also things like Notepad++ which is really more of a programming editor, but it has a tabbed interface for multiple open documents and I do believe there's a spellcheck. It doesn't do any kind of formatting though.
Notepad++ looks to be perfect for my needs!
I very much appreciate your help!
