iPOD Classic or IPOD Touch

by treemen - 9/6/07 7:26 PM

Wondering on this subject. I want to buy one. Some people say what for the IPOD touch to get the kinks worked out, more memory, and a lower price. I agree with them on this, but still can't really decide. I have a 30gb one now, but it's running out of room. The 80gb is what I would get for know. Let me know, thanks

Depends on what you want. If you want a lot of space, got for that classic. If you want a touchscreen and wifi, go for the touch. I think they got all the kinks worked out with the iPhone, so I wouldn't be so worried about that.

Personally, I'm getting the 16 GB touch.

Need room for your stuff?....

If you have run out of room on your 30 GB iPod Classic, your stuff definitely won't fit on the iPod Touch. Seems like a no brainer, unless you leave some stuff at home.

I'd go for the classic and wait until they made larger hard drives on the touch. In six months they will sell one with double the hard drive space for about the same money.

I'm going for both.

I have filled up my video with videos and my nano with music. I have to be picky with my flash players, so I put the best stuff on them for on-the-go days. I'll go for both, so I can have all the best movies on the 160GB drive and all the best of everything else on the Touch, since you can use the Wi-Fi store and download stuff.

My only question about the Touch is if it can use online eMail clients and the del.ico.ous thing like the iPhone. Mail isn't built into it (yet), but I have no doubts that you can use AIM and eMail on it. The iPhone views normal pages like a Mac would, not mobile phone pages. Since the Touch is just a revamped iPhone without AT&T junk on it, it should do the same, allowing eMail online.

But does it work? I'd like to know. To use the Touch like a PDA would be interesting. Eliminates the need for a laptop, LOL. Capacity is not an issue for me, like others have suggested. To the original poster:
16GB is a lot, and because it's a flash player, you should only put the really good stuff on it. But of course, many things are really good in the entertaiment world, so whatever works for you. They'll make bigger drives for it, but unless Apple makes a 30GB flahs drive, it won't be too soon.

Thanks if anyone knows about the eMail thing.

movies or music?

by Philip Hatfield - 9/9/07 12:45 PM In reply to: iPOD Classic or IPOD Touch by treemen

well lets start with what you want on your iPod. if you will be listening to music and maybe watching a movie or two, you might want the iPod Touch. if you are going to watch a lot of movies and listen to a lot of songs, the iPod Classic should suit your needs. also, if you browse the web a lot the iPod touch is a serious option. or if you like games you should get an iPod Classic

i would say touch

touch looks alot better, has alot of features, personally 16gb should be more than enough for your songs and maybe few vids and a movie or two. either way why do u need 160gb. IMO it sucks holding an ipod and watching a movie for 2 hours on such a small screen.

Don't buy the ipod classic or the ipod touch .

I know my opinion will be weird , but , If you want more storage So why don't you buy any 80 gb 5th generation ipod ? ,I really don't see any thing better in the ipod classic ,actually I thing the 5th generation ipods is better looking than the new ones , and If you bought the 5th generation know i mean after publishing the new generation it would be cheap i think !

It really doesn't matter if they made it thinner or putting the coverflow .. I think it doesn't matter . I would say to you to buy the ipod classic if they made something new in it like making a large display or something .

If you don't like this opinion , So I think you already have a 30 gb ipod So it would be better in all cases to buy an ipod touch because It's new and stylish and It has lots of new options , And I really can't find one reason for you to buy this ipod classic .

I hope that helps you to decide .

both got pros and cons. I pick the Touch cuz...

The Touch is hella pleasing to the eye with all the touch/ tilt features you can use to navigate and manage songs. You can check email and send blogs through it if your in a hotspot. I think 8 gigs is enough considering i only listen to podcasts once or twice then delete them ( you can delete podcasts through your touch)and songs get predictable after the 50th time i hear it. Who listens to 8 gigs of music all the way through within a week?? (unemployed people)

Ipod classic uses buttons so it could be easierfor people to keep it in the pocket while flipping through playlists. If youre a mp3 geek (collector) its a dream machine.

The battery is better on the ipod classic though the touch isnt bad either (unless you spend it all on wifi)

Ipod classic is for collecotrs and the touch is for rich people

iPod touch vs ipod classic

by Scarlie - 6/29/09 5:10 AM In reply to: iPOD Classic or IPOD Touch by treemen

I really do think that the ipod touch will work better. There is lots of storage, a lower price, and more accesories then the classic. On the classic you cant go on the internet as well as you can on the touch. The touch also has lots of games for free. The classic is all about money to me and I think you are better off with the touch. I have had the iPod touch for a while now and things are great. If its for work or for fun just get one ipod: The iPod touch.
