hey whats up everyone!
Has anyone used or seen this phone yet? its the Motorola MOTOROKR E8, Its only been out for a few weeks but its already won 4 awards with CNET.
I think the "modeShift" technology is pretty cool the way the interface switches from phone to music player with the button tap
take a look at it on motorola.com/e8 and let me know what you think
The new Linux UI is not quite perfect in terms of how flashy it's attempting to be, but it has far more function and expandability than the old motorola p2k OS that went on too many of their phones. Otherwise, the keypad is relatively easy to use, the "modeshift" thingy is operated by a backlit greyscale screen under the touch sensitive keys and the scrolling area around the 5 way toggle is pretty nice. The camera is about as good as what has gone into previous 2mp motorolas, but is still trumped by phones with better image processing. The display is beautiful, although the landscape layout takes a while to get used to, the HTML browser is a giant improvement over p2k's pathetic XHTML browser, and the sound quality is passable.
I like that they have a fastscroll navigation wheel now and that they utilized the haptic touch pad on this phone
The built in FM radio and Song ID are a nice touch as well.
The site they have up for it is pretty cool too, www.motorola.com/e8
thanks for the insight too emo, do you or anyone else have one?
