if i have a two speaker sound system do es the sound card have the ability to work with two speakers by different mfrs? one is a wlar co mponent and the other would have to be so mething new since i have only one left?

Today's sound card outputs are the equivalent of pre-amps in home systems so that doesn't matter...but the circuitry that powers the speakers would like them to be the same size impedance and efficiency in order to give good left-right balance and tonal quality. If you can wire them up properly, they will produce sound...just can't say how good it will be.
Consider laying down $50 for a nice 2.1 system. It will sound much better than a 2 speaker system.
