Hi,
I am looking for a DVR to replace my VCR recording system for animal behavior data collection. That means I want something that is flexible in terms of scheduling and easy to get data off of (preferably by USB onto a flash drive or portable hard drive). I'd like to be able to change the fps so I can do "timelapse" recording. Multiple channels and multiplexing would be nice but are not required. Similarly, sound capabilities would be nice but are not required. A time stamp is essential.
Can anyone recommend something to me?
Thanks,

A stretch, but why not.
I keep seeing this great white shark come out of the water in slow-mo....
I would add a very very large 2nd HDD to your computer, then turn the computer into a DVR & have all data from the camera save to the 2nd HDD. This all depends if the camera you have is able to do the 'slow-mo' speeds that you want
or get this -
1080i camcorder shoots 300fps slow-mo

then just edit the the shoots on your computer
note slow-mo takes up a lot of room, but that also depend on the speed.
