Is my computer preinstalled with 64-bit or 32-bit Vista?

by tlbrewer5 - 6/29/08 1:09 PM

When I first turned it on I am certain it asked me to choose from 32-bit or 64-bit, lacking in knowledge at the time I chose 32-bit. I've tried numerous times since to get back to that and cannot. Is this really a 64-bit?

Processor AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50, 1600 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)

It's an HP Pavillion dv9208nr Notebook

Thanks

Likely 32-bit....

It's rare to see a computer come preinstalled with a 64-bit edition unless it's customized by the customer or a high-performance model with more than 4GB of RAM. The easiest way of finding out is to press Windows + R and type in winver before pressing Enter. Unless x64 is included in the version listed it is a 32-bit edition.

but it doesn't say anything about 32-bit or 64-bit, but you can right-click on MY COMPUTER, select PROPERTIES und check under SYSTEM TYPE... it will say 32 or 64.

I know it is 32-bit now, I set it that way on initial turnon. My question is, did I determine my own setting at initial turnon, can I go back to the original point when it asked me to choose and then took 3 hours or so to set up the computer before I could even us it the first time.

When you purchased

the laptop, did it come with 32-bit or did it come with both. Usually there is only one, I've never heard of having an option unless someone specifically added that to it.
