No, I didn't get a replacement. But Mit is paying for the labor and parts. Will see if they fix the problem? I was told TV will be upgraded and will work better and I also will get a 6 months warranty. Will get the TV back in couple weeks and we will see from there.

Mr. Charles Clark
1638 Case Rd. Apt. 4101
Temple, TX 76504 USA
satmenra@hotmail.com
Phone: (254) 228-5305

I purchased the tv May 2006 from Aarons 2925 South General Bruce Drive, Temple, TX 76502 phone #(254) 774-9995 and by Aug 2006 I was getting the dreaded air sensor flow message. After a couple of weeks of turning the set off to resolve I proceeded to purchase an external fan to help keep the set cool. After doing research online, I saw many others had this problem and that it was being fixed under warranty. I contacted Aarons as I was still making payments on the tv at the time and they had an authorized service tech from JOHNNY OWENS - INCORPORATED 2904 TRIMMIER ROAD, NUMBER C KILLEEN TX 76542 phone #(254) 526-3054 come out about June 2007. Paid tv off in February 08 with tax returns about 6 months early and 1 month later lamp light goes on and I research and see many others have also had this problem. Well, unfortunately I'm not rich, i.e, the rent-to-own method. Are you kidding me, over $3000 spent on a tv and nobody told me I would have to replace a $300.00 bulb on a yearly basis for maintenance. So now I have a black box that has been collecting dust for the last 4 months because bulb prices with no guarantee on lifetime is absurd, not to mention I'm sure there will be more problems to follow. Please add me to the list for the class action lawsuit or contact me. By the way, I emailed MDEA and BBB June 6,2008 and no response as of yet.

Called Mitsubishi customer service yesterday, yeah the overseas location. Offered me a lamp at a discounted price of get this an amazing drop from $249.00 down to $200.00. Wow. Thats how much my $3000-$4000 purchase meant to them. Got an email this morning from MDEA saying someone will contact me within 2 days. Will keep you posted but don't hold your breath.

Update 2

by cnote1975 - 6/13/08 5:49 PM In reply to: Update by cnote1975

Ok, I never got a call back so I decided to call Mitsubishi this morning. Complained about not receiving a call back, asked if rep couldnt get me a new bulb sent that she would need to put someone on the phone who could and they offered to replace my bulb if I sent in the Purchase receipt. I'll keep you updated on if it actually is the bulb and any future problems. Good luck fellow Americans.

Replacement Lamp

by flyloc2 - 6/26/08 2:53 PM In reply to: Update 2 by cnote1975

I just called Mits myself about my second lamp going out. They offered to send me one if I sent in a copy of my receipt. I have done that and I am now told that I should have my new lamp in 2 business days. That should be Monday or Tuesday at the latest. I am very surprised to be going through 2 lamps and I have only had my TV since November 25, 2006. I have a WD-57731. Why don't they replace the lamps with LED's??? That seems like it would solve Mits' headache and ours also.

by cnote1975 - 6/10/08 11:37 AM In reply to: Mitsubishi DLP Television WD-57831 Class Action Lawsuit by jschweikle

Just posted the previous entry and I was curious to know where this the rest of the people in these posts stand? I mean this thread has been open for almost a year. What is the status of lawsuit ie., (First person to post thread). Has any progress been made or are we just wasting time venting here? We the people, for the people, by the people? Anyone?

How I stand

by Drynine - 6/10/08 12:39 PM In reply to: Lawsuit by cnote1975

I still have not heard back from the BBB, while I did get an email back from Mitsu. They told me to call the service line. I will wait until I get a response from the BBB. I think it is absurd to have to resplace a bulb every 10 months just to watch TV. I spent 3000 on my unit also. Mitsubishi has to do something to fix this problem. I requested a replacement of my television with a newer model as I don't trust the model I have.

My recommendation ....

Go ahead and call Mits Consumer Relations (800-332-2119) if you haven't already. The call center is located in the Phillippines but go ahead and verbally confirm/document everything w/ them. You should eventually get a call back from Mits in Irvine, California. If you don't, you can find their ph. # on the BBB website. The contact name there is Vigil White I believe. This will make sure you have all bases covered .... e-mail to MDEA, BBB complaint and verbal complaint to Mits Consumer Relations. Demand a newer model replacement of comparable value to your existing tv. My original model was a WD-52725 and I ended up w/ a WD-60735 PLUS the Mits entertainment center that goes with it! The newest DLP models can be found @ www.mitsubishi-tv.com Be persistent .... best of luck to you!

question

by lawsonmt - 7/11/08 2:34 PM In reply to: My recommendation .... by gohorns1

Hey gohorns...how old was your tv that got replaced? From what you know does it appear to be a requirement to drop tons of dough on repairs to get a financial assistance on repairs or a replacement set from Mits?? I had my TV for several years but I think it just crapped the bed recently. I had many of the symptoms described here.....I had the blinking green light that was messing with my ability to turn on the TV (had to unplug, reboot..etc to get it to turn on), I thought my bulb failed so I replaced the bulb without success- I am thinking I have a ballast/power issue after reading everything here.

Thankfully I found this string....this stopped me from trying to get repair folks and expensive parts in the mix. I am not sure if I have a shot at getting a replacement TV given that my problems are relatively new but I dont want to spend the money to find out just how screwed my TV is, I'd rather cut my losses and use that repair money to invest in a more stable TV. But, when you drop 3gs on a TV you have a hard time letting go!!!

In answer to your question ....

by gohorns1 - 7/11/08 3:50 PM In reply to: question by lawsonmt

My tv was 3 years old (WD-52725) when I started having major problems (thermal sensor, DM Module - went out 3 time), etc. I bought the original TV in Jan., 2005 from the Home Theatre Store .... paid $3200 (plus the ext. warranty). My advice? BE RELENTLESS! Plead your case w/ Mits by phone and e-mail and also file an online complaint w/ Irvine, California BBB. If you need any of that information, feel free to write me here. I ended up getting a replacement TV (bigger, newer model - WD-60735 - came out in April, 2008) plus the matching Mits base/entertainment center. Let me know if you have anymore questions .... GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

TV issues -- WD 52725

by kansas mike - 11/25/08 5:58 AM In reply to: In answer to your question .... by gohorns1

I too have the dreaded green blinking light problem.
They have offered to pay for parts only. Would you please provide me info on talking and emailing to Mitsubishi in Irvine?

I thank you for your assistance in advance,

Mike in Kansas

question - will never buy Mitsubishi again !!

by itracy2 - 7/17/08 9:09 AM In reply to: question by lawsonmt

Sorry to inform you that by unplug, reboot isn't going to work long.. I was doing the same to mine WD62825, paid more than 4g, for a few times and now it is completely shut down. You should report your tv problems to BBB online soon.
