Why does my autoplaylist in WM11 populate so slowly?

Hi-- I have an autoplaylist in Windows Media Player 11 for the podcasts that I download with an aggregator (Ziepod). This works... eventually. But it can literally take HOURS before WMP11 lists those files in my library so I can put together a playlist. Is there any way to force the program to monitor the autoplaylist more quickly/often? I'm in XP.
