Command-Not-Found

by R. Proffitt Moderator - 6/19/08 7:18 AM In reply to: openSUSE 11.0 Released This Morning! by KevinDupuy

This looks grim to me. Nothing like changing the command line results to break scripts and more.

Don't agree

Well, if you live in the command line, then you might not like it. But for most users, who live in the world of mice and windows, openSUSE 11.0 is an incredible release.

staying away from the social disease known as Novell

Anything that has the stench of Novell on it is about as appealing as a disease ridden Pam Anderson.

I am testing Mandriva 2008 to see how if differs from PCLinuxOS (which is based on Mandriva) and its very nice: http://www.mandriva.com/

And to boot, Mandriva is one of those distros that like Red Hat, Ubuntu and others stood up to the Microsoft extortion attempts.

FUD Warning: You're doing Microsoft's job!

by KevinDupuy - 6/21/08 3:18 PM In reply to: staying away from the social disease known as Novell by Papa Chango

I'm sure Microsoft's PR department is thanking you for doing their job and creating FUD around an OS that no patented code, no scent of Microsoft. Mandriva is a great distro, but keep in mind: the Novell/Microsoft deal wasn't an extortion attempt. It was an attempt by Novell to get Microsoft into cooperating with Linux, and it's been mildly successful so far. But the only part people covered was the patent deal.
