is regestry cleaners are effective

by kavonr - 6/21/08 5:34 AM

actually the thing is i heard from somewhere that these registry cleaner
are not effective as if we dont have a basic knowledge of all these things then we dont wont rely only on these cleaners becaz sometimes the cleaners think that some file r unnecessary but they r not
so thats why i need to know that which is the solution to this problem. i will appreciate ur responce. regards

Reading priors answers I suggest caution.

You find nightmare results at http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6138_102-0.html?forumID=31&threadID=116309&messageID=1321562 and we have former discussions about this.

If you are still running Windows 98 you would want to do this. But with 2000/XP/Vista this has nearly no payoff.

Personally

Personally, until any of these registry cleaner programs can provide me with clear, unambiguous, documentation on exactly what it is they "clean" and the process by which something is marked as needing to be "cleaned", I consider the whole lot of the programs to be completely useless and the non-free ones to be scams.

If I ever have work done on my car, I would expect the mechanic to be able to explain and justify each and every thing done to my car before I pay. I don't see why computer programs should get off any easier.
