I cannot print emails from Outlook 200 with embedded pictures. The pictures appear as blank boxes with a red "x". Is there a way to print theses emails?
Thanks.
Cbppit,
What version of Outlook do you mean? It seems the last digit disappeared from your post.
The lack of standardization for embedded pictures in emails is well-known. So this might depend on the program that made the mail. Let's start with a simple experiment (and I'm afraid I can't do much more for you). Use your own Outlook to make a mail with an embedded picture and sent it to yourself. Then print it both from Sent Items and from the Inbox. See what happens.

experiment with the format of the mail. Repeat the exercise with html-format, rtf-format (don't know if it works if you don't use Word as text processor in Outlook) and plain text (won't do, I think) format.
Post back what you find.
I assume that the pictures DO appear correctly on the screen, but become a red x while printing. Correct me if I'm wrong.

something to read:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MS_Office/Outlook/Q_21541578.html (page down a few times to see the discussion; it points to 2 articles in the MSKB)
http://channels.lockergnome.com/windows/archives/20050205_why_doesnt_outlook_consistently_show_pictures_in_my_messages.phtml
Also it might make a difference if the mail is on an Exchange Server or not. If Exchange, try to print from a local folder also. If local, try Exchange server if possible.

Recommend doing a ''copy and paste'' the email contents into WORD 2000 (or later). If the pictures copy into WORD ...then they should print.

I had this same problem and then I learned to open your email and then print. Hope this works and it is easier than copying the email to Word.

Hi there. I've been trawling the internet with little success, looking for a solution to a problem which has been bugging me for ages. I run XP withe Office 2003 and I cannot get my emails (with embedded graphics) to appear on the printerd page as they do on screen. I usually end up with a box containing a red "x" where the image should be.
I came across your posting and was wondering if you ever found a solution and if so are you willing to share it and put me out of my misery ![]()
Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide.

Use the 'Print Scrn' button (Alt-Print Scrn) to copy the screen image, then paste it into Paint. Then try printing that.
I've tried that as well as printing from Word, Excel etc. no problems. Outlook refuses to play ball. It appears on the screen OK but as soon as it's printed a red "x" appears where the image should be.
Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Gary.
