My Outlook 2000 just won't start!!
What data recovery software do you recommend for this kind of trouble.
Thanks!
to try since you mention no error messages, how you are trying to start it or any other info.
First, open your TaskManager and see if it is already running as a process - if it is se,ect it then click the "End Process" button then try to start it again.
If it isn't open a command prompt and enter the following command (substitute the actual path to your Outlook Executable if your path is different) -
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe" /safe
There is another forum for MS Office and related software but also, you need to give us a little more to work with such as is your Outlook a stand-alone app or part of the Ofice suite? And, what OS is it running on? Do you have the legal install CD for it?
Hey! There's no error message coming up, it just hangs on the opening window. I've tried to re-install it but it didn't work.
It's running on XP´and it's a part of the Office Suite.
I just don't know what else to do!
Hopefully, you've installed all the service packs for Office 2000? If not, give it a try..

Backup the .pst file so you can import it back after the reinstall, but you should be able to do a full uninstall of Office or Outlook, then reinstall it.
Hope this helps.

open a command prompt (or the Rin box) and type (or paste) the following command (EXACTLY as shown, quotes and all)-
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe" /safe
