Which LCD to buy???

by irfanil - 5/19/08 3:46 AM

hello everyone,

i'm a 3d modeler, love watching movies and playing games. Looking for a very good 22" lcd monitor. I'm stuck with DELL SP2208WFP, LG L226WTQ, and Samsung 2203GW. Which one do u suggest?

why isn't there any review of LG monitors? is it not worth that? waiting anxiously for ur suggestions!

It has a better picture quality and higher refresh rate.

No. Go with LG.

I have one of each, so listen up.

The Samsung does NOT have a faster refresh rate. The LG is 2 ms vs. the Samsung's 5 ms refresh rate (lower is better). Both are adequate but the LG frequently goes on sale cheaper (like right now at Best Buy).

Otherwise both are similar, but the LG has a design feature that maybe some people, particularly if their PC is located in their bedroom, would find important. When the PC is shut off, the LG's power switch turns from that new ubiquitous cobalt blue color to a very mellow amber. The Samsung's, on the other hand, blinks on and off in that bright blue, which I would find very disturbing if I had to sleep near it.

The LG also comes with an occasionally useful zoom feature, and to my way of thinking was easier to calibrate.

My new samsung lcd monitor has 2ms,3000-1 dynamic contrast, high glossy black design, hdcp, color is very easy to set-press the auto button, with the monitor comes a cable that you can connect to the tower for digital, unfortunately mine doesn't have it so I'm in analog,(for now) still impressive. Works great with my Graphics card GEForce 6200 TurboCache.
My monitor(21") with taxes and extended warranty, good for 5 yrs, came to just over $400 at Best Buy, they highly recommended the samsung monitor
I have other samsung products and for me they top the list for performance and longevity over any other.
The little blue light for me is not intrusive, but to conserve energy I shut everything down when I'm done working with my computer.
Everyone has their own preferences as to the products they like the best, but in reality how long has LG been out there compared to Samsung?
Who keeps a computer in their bedroom anyway?
