----------- OR-------------
SuperAntiSpyware (SAS)is known for removing stubborn ones like winfixer (mentioned specifically by name) and there's a free version. Updates very frequently (built in updater). I currently don't use it as my main one as I found it took rather long to download updates and took rather long (but very thorough) to scan BUT I keep it on hand in case of emergency!!
I'd give it a try FIRST!!!
Lady M's (Mod) Settings & Procedure for SAS.

Ants cripple computers in Texas
Houston, we have a problem
Written by Iain Thomson
vnunet.com, 15 May 2008
Electrical systems in Houston have been failing after a huge influx of ants, according to reports from Associated Press.
The ants are resistant to over-the-counter poisons and have ruined pumping equipment at sewage stations, damaged computers and caused fire alarms to malfunction.
Like many insects, the ants are attracted by electronic devices.
"At this point, it would be nearly impossible to eradicate the ant because it is so widely dispersed," said Roger Gold, an entomologist at Texas A&M University.

if they look like cockroaches...check to see if you have a screensaver named Blacker...get rid of it
I think I finally found a solution...I went to "display" in the control panel and clicked on "screensaver" and then selected "none". Since doing this, I've had no more "bugs"!!
Thanks for all your help!
Crap, I have the bugs too. Anyone know where they came from? I am going through all my spy/malware programs now. Sigh.

I found the Bugs on my screen and removing Blackster et al did the trick. (Thanks) I believe this was tied to the Win32/cutwail.s Trojan that appeared in my system at the same time. This was a tenatious little critter that disabled my System Restore functionality and seemed impervious to all the spyware programs I could get my hands on. The Solution that worked for me was to reset the date & clock on my machine to a time in which I knew I didn't have this bug and then to restart my machine. Once it was back up and running with the new date I was able to do a System Restore to that date and this seemed to work.
Thanks for the input.
Here is the culprit; FakeAlert-AG:

It's malware/spyware that is designed to trick you into buying software.
I have the crawling bugs too. Nothing unusual shows up in the screensaver choices, and NONE is selected. I've scanned thoroughly with Norton Antivirus and Pareto Logic Anti Spyware, both updated, no results. I'll try searching for the files suggested here, thanks.
I don't think you will have any luck sending a screen shot because I thing is is a screen saver . In xp I remember one of the screensavers haveing bugs crawling on the screen . I thing it's under "themes , Organic" or something to that effect try looking under the plus section .If you right click anywhere on the desktop and left click properties and open screensaver tab it will display what your screensaver is set on. Good luck , I hope this will help.

Same thing happened to me ... went into Programe Files\Windows\System 32 and found "Blackbug Screensaver" and deleted it. Don't know how it got there it just happened.
NOTE: Must be done in SAFE mode
Download SYBOT (Free version) Run it and the buigs and WIINFIXER will go away. I work in a school district as a tech. A teacher had this problem. Spybot took care of it.
