...yes it does mate - you have the option of either.
After all the messing trying to install Imagemixer I've now found that I can just drop the raw files into NeroVision and it will burn them straight to dvd. Obviously theres no edit functions doing it this way but as a simple 'back-up and view' solution it seems to hit the spot.
Another method available to me is to plug the camcorder itself straight into my Lite-on dvd recorder via the component cable supplied - press play on the camcorder and press record on the recorder = done.
Either way I've managed to cure by back-up problems.
looking for a bag/case for fs100
I'd like the bag to be as small as possible, but with room for 1 extra battery & a couple SD cards in the side compartment.
i want the camcorder to fit right without extra space. I prefer canon brand bags/case.
Any recommendations will be appreciated!
The case I got as part of the QVC package is very nice, strong and nicely padded but there's not really any extra space for any other bits.
Pop along to Jessops (UK camera shop), or similar, I'm sure they'd have plenty of options to suit your needs.
do u guys have any recommendations for bag/case for canon fs100?
I tried pulling in the video captured by the FS100 but WMM does not display the video. I can hear the audio but no video is displayed.
Media Player and Media Center both play the video, but I wanted to use WMM to splice a number of scened together to create one file. I tried using ImageMixer but the sound gets off after the first scene.
I purchased the Canon FS100 the other day and was trying to work with Windos Movie Maker. If I change the extension from MOD to .MPG, I can use the Windows Movie Maker to edit the file. The problem I am having is getting WMM to recognize the 16:9 format the file was recorded in.
The camcorder records in "Widescreen" and when I play the file in VLC PLayer it recognizes it as widescreen but not WMM. I even went into TOOLS>OPTIONS and changed the aspect to 16:9 but the video still shows as 4:3 with black bars on each side. The things in the video also look taller and thinner.
Do you have this problem?
As I mentioned above,
The widescreen problem has been solved in another forum by users of the JVC SD camcorder.
You need to download a small program called sdcopy and run it on your .mod files. It renames them to .mpg (if you haven't already done so) and fixes the widescreen tags. Apparently the tags are in the moi files and future video editors will be able to realize that.
The only problem with this solution is that after using sdcopy to fix the widescreen tags, when opened in VLC it will appear "double wide" but media player will see it as wide.
I used sdcopy and that did it. I also noticed the double wide in VLC but that is ok. With Windows Movie Maker and Windows Media Player I am in business. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Has anyone combined 2 or more scenes and saved them to a single file? I did and the sound is off after the 2nd scened is added.
I seem to be having some quality issues also - aliasing or horizontal lines (due to interlacing?) Have you experienced this? I haven't tried it on a TV yet, but it happens on my PC and MAC, although not so bad using the included software PIXELA or on the mac. It is pretty disturbing. The quality is a disappointment for me, as older dv cameras (not HD) seem to produce much sharper images.
I saw the same problem on your NASCAR video passing the green highway sign.
Does the problem improve at various recording qualities?
can i use my canon fs100 as webcam (skype/yahoo) in pc runing windows vista?
