Create Login page for my wireless router?
by tommyg562000 - 5/19/08 7:15 PMI want to know how I can let people use my connection but force them to create a user name and password to use my internet (wireless internet). I want them to be able to connect to my router but when they open IE or firefox they will be directed to a login page and wont be able to surf until they provide their username and password. Can anybody help?

The first is to buy a more expensive commercial access point device, and the second is to get a router that you can install DD-WRT onto, and not just the mini or micro distributions of DD-WRT.
If you go the DD-WRT route, you'll want to check their supported hardware list, and make sure to get a router on that list with at least 4MB of flash RAM.
You're not going to do this with just any off the shelf router though.
