Macbook-Black, IMac, Ipod Video 60g, Ipod Nano
love it all,
I have a 1. macbook pro with updated OS, 2. Airport Extreme router, 3. wireless mouse, etc.
Will buy Apple TV soon so I can to download movies to mac book and wirelessly access them with Apple TV clicker . The process is slowly being announced etc. They knowwhere they are going, and control the release of products, and they actually work when released. (Note to Microsoft)
I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT APPLE SHOULD START MAKING GAMING CONSOLES AS APPLE ARE THE ROLLS ROYCE OF COMPUTERS AND MAKING CONSOLES IS A STEP DOWN.
NONE! WHY NOT?
APPLE is just another word for A HOLE! Like a boat Apple products are a hole in the water you throw money into. Over priced and under worthed but hay, like a deaf er hearing challenged man I knew said once that he bought BOSE and MARANTZ because they just had to sound good. Your money you can spend it as you wish.
too gay!

I've been using Windows/Ms-DOS for 20+ years, but really learned to work the GUI on the Mac in the 80's, I loved it and although it took me almost 20 years to go back to Mac I don't see going be back to using a PC on the future.
The main reason is I like OSX better and now I can also run windows with Parallels/Bootcamp, its funny but AutoCAD 2002 runs better on my Mac mini with parallels with Windows XP than with my Vista-Gateway nightmare I use at work, I plan to change both my current HP laptop and work Desktop for Macbook / Imac.
2 x G5's
2 x G4
2 x 23" monitors
1 x Macbook
2 x iPod Shuffle
1 x iPod Nano
1 x Time Capsule
I got turned off early when Apples 2 and 3 and Macs OS 3, I believe, were in use. They were more expensive, Expensive to maintain: The shift key cap was broken, I wanted to replace it. Noooo, A trained Apple technitian had to install a $5.00 part, and the labor cost $35.00. That cured me right then and there.
Once they finally included continuous play I was so happy. My Cube is not the fastest anymore but its fine for my needs for the moment. Too bad upgrading it is not a great solution - I still love the design. I wish they'd release the OS for regular PCs.
Ahh, the sleek lines, the sexy silver paint scheme, the "cute" user interface that everyone knows and loves. You can tell just by looking at it that it's an Apple product. These are the features that Apple touts in its advertising, as well as the implicit "cool factor"--you know, the "fact" that Apple products are "cool" and "hip" and "fashionable". And of course the implicit notion that owning Apple products makes YOU "cool" and "hip" and "fashionable".
Of course what REALLY counts is the "features" that Apple doesn't talk about. Higher prices than similar competing products. Restrictive software and draconian licensing policies. Inferior quality hardware and lesser specs/features than other brands. And of course there's good old "planned obsolescence". Most Apple products seem to be designed to break down so you'll have to replace them BEFORE they become obsolete--which isn't that long anyways since Macs are completely integrated and impossible to upgrade except for adding RAM and replacing the hard disk. And even those minor upgrades can require a trained Apple technician depending on the model.
My MP3 player is a Sandisk. Cheaper than an iPod, more features than an iPod (such as FM radio, voice recorder), and more reliable than an iPod thanks to the flash memory storage and user-replaceable battery. My laptop is a Dell, and my desktop is a custom build. Far better specs than anything Apple makes, and for a fraction of the cost. Hardware quality is better too.
Frankly, I can't think of anything that Apple offers that I need or want, but couldn't find something better and cheaper elsewhere!
I'm not loyal to any brand in particular, but Apple products have never appealed to me. I started using PC's in the early 80's when Apple first started their protectionist, proprietary, exclusive closed-architecture hardware. I had dozens of friends who used MS-based PC's and only a few to whom Apples were appealing.
Let's see - I began with Commodore 64, moved on to MS-DOS, hated the Mac OS when I was first introduced to it (On the Mac Classic) but since my profession is in print, I had to learn the Mac and all it's mysterious ways. Today I use a maxed-out Mac Mini, although there are several other Macs in the house dating back to the 1990's, and two iPods (the Shuffle & Nano)
I will admit, Apple got off on the wrong foot from OS 8-9.2 , and the Performa line of the 1990's stank - along with a few other ahead of their time ideas, but the hardware is robust and reliable, and OS 10 is the most bulletproof thing I've seen yet (Yes I have seen Kernel Panics - no gadget is perfect! If you're looking for perfection, go to church already!)
Get this - I was running the OS 10.4 on a G4 450 mhz Mac - faster than it ran the old OS 9.2 -- yes the RAM was maxed out, and the box was used for MS Office & web functions -- but I don't think Windows XP could do that on a similar PC set up. Vista couldn't.
For the record - There is a Windows XP box at home to practice with and use for "PC Only" projects. And I recently switched jobs and work on PCs running Windows 95 and 2000. They are a lot more work in the maintenance and waiting department - but that's fine with me, since I'm paid hourly now.
As a tech guy, I don't understand why Windows users tend to have such a negative view of Macs. They're both computers for crying out loud, they both have the same or similar sets of programs. I can edit photos, type a letter, surf the web - all the basics on both. I prefer the Mac, since it is more straightforward and 'snappier' - and I know a lot of folks like their PCs because they can modify the hardware to a ridiculous pimped-out degree. And the PC users flame Macs using the same old tired myths. Heck, I upgraded a good chunk of a couple of G4 towers at my previous job using parts from the local PC shop to keep them running - RAM, a new HD, a SCSI card, an extra USB card - the cheapest I could scrounge - and they worked pretty well. How does that add up to "Apple-Only Hardware, Authorized Service Person Only" myth I keep hearing about?
Well - Whatever floats your PC boat. Just don't make waves at my Mac boat.
