Having same issues here with my WD-65732. TV is less than 2 years old and have been through 3 lamps. This last one only lasted 4 months. At $3000 for the TV and $250 a piece for lamps this TV has turned into the most expensive piece of crap I have ever bought. Count me in on the class action settlement!
We purchased a WD-Y57 in mid December 2006. It has been having the air flow problem for months. Today we got the red lamp light and it looks like we'll be shelling out quite a bit for our first lamp. While it seems that ours lasted quite a while compared to others here, it still seems very poor quality to have to replace something this expensive this often.
We're very disappointed in this. I'm in Corona, CA.
I have the same model, purchased from circuit city in Dec. 06. About

I have a WD52725 that shuts itself down intermittantly. I called for service and the technician told me to buy a new set as he stated something else will likely break soon after repair. I paid over $2K for the set in June of 05. The set should last over 3 years! Sign me up for a class action suit. Russ
I take it you don't have an extended warranty. And from Mitsubishi's website you're not under the extended warranty. It sounds like its a thermal sensor problem which Mitsubishi did extend the warranty on, but not your tv. Have you called Mitsubishi?
Well, just had a repair guy out for the third time in about 18 months. First time was the under rated Capacitors on the DM board. the next time was a blown cap on the FMT board, this time it was about 18 caps and looks like the FMT board is fried. Power surge you say, nope, I've got one of those home theater power conditioners, and all the other components are just fine. I am VERY disappointed in Mitubishi over this whole episode. This repair guy has probably logged 40 man-hours on my TV alone, and from what he says I am not his only peeved Mitsubishi owner. So, now I am looking at replacing the whole core or buying a new TV. Mitsubishi should have recalled this model as soon as these issues started popping up. If there is a class action suit out there I'd love to be a part of it. The parts have not been bad, but the labor charges are killing me, and I am sure this guy is getting tired of spending days at a time sitting on the floor of my living room.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-52631. I have had it now for 13 months. I have all the same problems that comes with a Mitsbishi. TV turns off. when I get it to trun on, I have no picture then in about three minutes, it turns off again. I would like to be in the class action lawsuit for a full refund or a new TV one other then Mitsubishi. Thanks
Sounds like you may have a thermal sensor problem.
If that's the case you can call Mitsubishi and they will have it repaired at their expense. It's listed on their site, and I believe they are offering an additional 2 years on the standard 1 year manufacturer's warranty. (FOR THIS TYPE OF REPAIR)
I had this problem initially. It's a 15 minute fix.
Good luck!
I feel as though I have fallen victim as well. I purchased a WD-62628 for about $1,600 only 8 months ago. One day I turned it on and there seems to be some sort of bar code down one side and the picture looks like a comb ran through it. The place I bought it from said it only had a 30 day warranty. They told me the would take a look at it so I took it to them. Four months later they tell me that it has a bad light engine and it would be over a grand to fix. I went and picked it up and really feel crappy. I wish there was something I could do.......

Was it brand new? If so then it has a 1 year warranty through Mitsubishi.
I too have had problems with my Mitsubishi WD-57831. I had to replace 3 bulbs and finally got a service provider who replace the power control along with the bulb. I do not know how long it will show this time. I am definitely interested!
I don't know how long they'll keep it on their website, but here is a link to the story that aired on May 8, 2008:

Thanks for posting the TV clip. I watched it and was totally amazed, although I don't know why I should be, that they say they work with each request of trouble immediately! Obviously, they're not reading this forum AT ALL! There have been some really helpful tips posted on this issue in the last few months - I hope that we all survive our televison problems. We also think seriously before turning on the "big" TV. If we're only going to be watching for an hour or so, we choose to watch the old Mitsubishi(12+ years old) so that we prolong the bulb life of the new one. SAD,SAD, SAD!

If it breaks down 3 times within a warranty time frame they cannot fix it again for the 4th time as they must replace the product with a new equal or better product.
