Computer newbies: cleaners

Using an external device also will help clean.
A word of advice: Don't do anything unless you are certain of what you want the results to be. You could end up with a temporarily useless machine.

Because it gives you the OPTION as to whether or not to install it. It's there because YOU didn't uncheck the box saying to install it. DOH!!!
My preference is CCleaner...

Never found it to remove anything that is really critical yet... so you are unlikely to make a mistake letting it clean most anything... the grayed out ones I avoid.
