Just take your time. I know it will work in the end.

I had spent hours and hours on this and posted on every board I could find. I even uninstalled TB and FF which was stupid.

Just try it the way I said. Go for a couple of day using IE and OE as the default. When you open TB and FF say NO as to their default question. Make sure that a couple of nights you totally power down with IE and OE set as the default.

Then after a couple of times set FF as the default and leave OE alone Use TB for your mail but allow it to become the default. If then, when in FF try to send link. If it brings up the OE compose window you will know things will finally work in the end. Don't just restart each time. POWER DOWN.

Keep me posted.

Explaining to me exactly what you've done and what you are doing.

Are you working only on a laptop or desktop?

Check my earlier message that I first sent you. Don't uninstall FF and TB. Are you using Thunderbird also?

That's fine. I also had gotten a super headache over this issue.

When you say you took FF out I am assuming that you no longer have it set as the default and have IE set exclusively as the default along with Outlook Express?

Do you or do you not use Thunderbird along with Firefox? Makes no difference. When I first started getting this resolved I went from IE and OE as the default and then I had IE and Windows Mail for a while. Then I crossed my fingers and made Thunderbird the default and it's still working just fine.

Hang in there and perhaps you will get it to work.

Pat

Can't send link

by vegaspatt - 4/20/08 4:14 AM In reply to: Cant send link?? by lee5458

I must have lost a previous response.

Isn't incredimail the one that tied in with those Emoticons? That could be part of the problem.

My friend tried those things a couple of years ago and it literally "grabbed" his OE account that he was using at the time. I had to get rid of it for him.

Why don't you install TB since it is developed by Mozilla which is also who developed Firefox?

If you do, don't allow it to become the default until you systematically try different steps as I stated before.

I NEVER did use OE or IE.

Can't send link

by vegaspatt - 4/22/08 7:14 PM In reply to: cant send link by lee5458

Lee,

Originally I assumed you were running Thunderbird and Firefox. I really don't know for sure if Incredimail is causing the problem or not. I suspect it is due to the fact the two of my friends encountered problems when they used the EMOTICONS. Isn't that a byproduct of Incredimail?

Anyway, in the beginning could you click on File/SendLink in Firefox and get a Compose Window from your email client at the time? If so I guess you will have to try what I said in the beginning. But somehow I fell that when you reboot your PC Incredimail grabs the default again.

I was so glad when I got mine to work and I feel it did because I used OE for a while and the Registry finally switched back so that when I set FF and TB has the default, one at a time, the Registry was prepared to accept it.

I wish you had the same luck but really don't know what else to tell you.

Sorry.
