USMC Guy,
can you use the GPS freely(i'm sure you have to have a data plan as well) or do you have to pay for a seperate plan to use the GPS only. Because i got a new phone but have to pay for a plan to use the GPS. Also how fast is the load of the maps?
Yes, you can use the GPS freely to see your current location.
1.) If you dont want to use your data plan, download the maps ahead of time with Nokia's Map Loader.
2.) If you want door to door directions, you must subscribe to a service.
NOTE: Google Maps for your mobile (http://www.google.com/gmm) is a great alternative.
yea i have google maps on my blackjack but it doesn't exactly pinpoint my location, it approximates. Yet for directions and turn by turn i need a service. Though it doesn't give you turn by turn, does the cursor or point on the phone to describe you move while you are moving or phone rather?
I am a huge fan of Nokia and thinking of getting the n82 just cause its smaller and nearly has everything the N95 has. But nokia is coming out with a touchscreen phone which looks great.
As per Nokia, in order to setp up the initial configurations, we need to follow this site, http://www.nokiausa.com/A4410019.
Settings Wizard
On the phone press the Menu key.
Scroll to and select Tools.
Scroll to and select Sett. wizard to launch the Nokia Settings Wizard.
Scroll to and select Operator.
Follow the wizard's on screen steps to automatically configure the phone with the required operator service settings.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 of the Settings Check above to verify that the settings are now working correctly.
BUT FOR ME UNDER SETT.WIZARD ONLY ONE OTION AND ITS EMAIL SETTING.
ANY COMMENTS?
