viruses in the "system volume information" folder!

by daas88 - 4/18/08 8:51 PM

i guess i have a fortress of security software in my computer, i have avast pro, ashampoo firewall, spybot s&d and spyware terminator installed on my pc, and my screen saver is the avast's. when i leave my pc idle for a while, the screen saver always(well, not always, bot often) finds a virus in the "system volume information" folder... does that mean anything? is there a virus that runs only in that folder? i'd appreciate your advice...

have or HAD a virus/trojan etc. and it was actively on machine when 1 or more system restore points were created so there are copies of it waiting there in ambush if you restore to one of those infected points/dates.

Easiest cure is to "dump " all old restore points by turning OFF System Restore & then Turning On again & running scan & IF clean, then creating a "new" clean point(s). Here's how:

You can create new points manually for a while if you like.
Good Luck!! :-)
