I had a PS2 and an original Xbox during the last generation of consoles and enjoyed both.
I will be purchasing a PS3 soon too....mostly for the blue ray capability, but I am sure somewhere along the line a PS3 exclusive title will come alone that I will really want to play. I did the same the last generation when I owned a PS2, but went out and purchased an original Xbox when Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic came out.
Why is there the need of so many to say that one system sucks and the other is better? If this was true, the market would weed out the inferior consoles and we would be left with a run away winner.
The PS3 is not head and shoulders above the 360, and the 360 does not blow the PS3 away.
If you swear by your PS3, good for you. If some other guy thinks the 360 is the greatest thing ever, well good for for him. However, you do not need to try to find fault with the opposite console in order to justify spending your money on one and not the other.
Look at it this way, if there was no 360, would the PS3 be as good and vise versa? Competition drives companies to make better products. If we only had one car company, or one company that produced all of the LCD and Plasma sets they would not improve and fall in price as quickly as they do with competition in the market.
There are things that one might do better than the other, but there are pluses and minuses in just about any scenario with multiple choices....see the LCD versus Plasma debate.

So I mean this from the bottom of my heart.....Shut up and go play your system if you think it is so great!

Since buying the game, you can get and play counterfeit games but you need chipping. There is no point because microsoft may cancel the xbox 360 and also it will void the warranty, the red ring of death is the problem since you can't replace it due to the policy.
PS3 is sort of more elegent design, since on 2008, controller has gain their vibration. I don't mind about backward compatibility of ps2. The design between the consoles, interface, availibility and controller just give difficult choices to pick.
Xbox 360 graphics appears to match against ps3. There is proven only few games show full potential of ps3 power. Other advantage is graphic rendering is something better than xbox 360. Other way install linux on ps3, use it like a pc, programs, all format, and unfortunately sony stops the graphic driver being used by OS.
PS3 hard drive is quite easy to upgrade as large as you want like up to 1000GB, xbox 360 hard drive is like 120gb, i not familar with xbox hard drive whether is fixed or not.

From almost all benchmark tests the 360 and PS3 have practically the same graphical/processing power. The only thing that matters is what kinds of games you like to play. If you like shooters and more Western styled games, get a 360. If you like RPGs, adventure, and more Japanese influence in your games get at PS3.
Or if you just have to have a Blu-ray player, get a PS3 (all the current standalone Blu-ray players are weak).

by daciple - 4/16/08 11:53 AM In reply to: Why I like the PS3 more than the crappy Xbox 360 (1.5). by EexpertIt comes down to the future...Which of the 2 consoles will last the longest with the best games...I can bet anyone in the world that in 2-3 yrs Mircosoft will release another 360 just so they can stay current w the Ps3 technology...Just look at the life cycle of the xbox...its going on 3 yrs since they released a game for the orginal xbox...Sony is to this day still releasing PS2 games... The 360 relies on dvd which is NOT next gen its last gen...dvd holds max 15gig info Blu ray holds 50gig info...Simple math shows you need 3 dvds to hold as much content as 1 bluray and dont think that isnt going to sway 3rd party support in the future
I will say untill June when mgs4 and all the other exclusive finally start to release for ps3 the 360 IS the better GAMING console but from then on the PS3 will hands down be the better system no discussion... There is ONLY 2 things the 360 has on the PS3 and if anyone says otherwise they are full of it...That is they have more games (as of now and that only makes sense since they had a yr head start) and much better online interface...
By next year the PS3 will have addressed thoes issues with many more Exclusives than 360 and HOME which will pwn xbox live (HOME is a online world similar to MMO games such as everquest and WOW where all ps3 owners load into an overworld where we can walk around talk to each other ect ect...and we will all have a virtual house that we can invite others into to see our trophies and watch moives and listen to music ect ect)
And these other posts are correct if you like the 360 good for you IF you like the wii good for you If you like the ps3 good for you
I personally want a system that will last till 2015 and still be current at that time the wii nor the 360 will make it that far or anywhere near that long...To each they own but in 2 yrs the 360 and wii will be obsolete

gears 2, halo, every good game pretty much..
not to mention parties... group chat..
everyone who likes ps3's just wants to make the bad decision to buy the ps3 justified in there own minds.
