Went to boot up my laptop last night and all I got was the windows startup window and then just a white screen. Fan starts like computer booting up but all I see is white. Any ideas before I get it to the repair guy. Wouldn't you know extended warranty just expired a month ago. TIA
Why no make and model? If you had told me it was a Toshiba I could have supplies a link to a discussion about that model. Maybe others as well.
I'm not asking for you to tell me the make and model but asking why you didn't tell and for the second question I ask -> Are you seeing the words in red?
sorry about that it's an HP zd8000 running XP. Talked to my computer guy and it does start in safe mode (see icons etc.) thinking it's probably a software/start up issue. No words in red, just a white screen, no icons, or start up bar.
These are known to burn out. Have your tech look it over but start shopping for a replacement mainboard.
