I've run across many errors on download.com, from broken links to incorrectly classified software. All I seem to be able to do is leave a review to that effect. But the editors never seem to read the user reviews and correct the errors. Some software is classified as free but is not. Other "software" is just a service. Some HTML editing tools are classified as bookmark organizers. The list goes on and on.... I believe this would not be the case if there were a link to report errors on the download pages. (And if anyone bothered to make the corrections!)
Because of the errors, I don't check download.com first any more when I'm searching for a program, but instead wade through a number of sites that are more accurate. And if I finally do get to download.com, I have to compensate for these errors and search on many different terms and sift the results, a tedious process.
I suppose I could send e-mail to one of the editors, but isn't that making me do a lot of work to correct one of their mistakes? It seems like they don't really care how accurate the download.com database is.

The editors do not generally read user reviews and, for the past several months, haven not been participating in this forum either. Several months ago I made a similar proposition which was warmly received, but with limited engineering resources (see Cnet financial woes and layoffs) and seemingly decreasing interest on the part of the editors I'm not optimistic.
