I have the FujiFilm Z10fd for daily use ... I need a compact camera that will fit in my shirt pocket and be readily available for work-related photos. I have read the reviews that state that the photo quality, from the Z10fd, is not all that great ... well, the quality is quite sufficient for my purposes, especially considering the compact package and the handiness of the unit.
I do have a technical question regarding copy/paste operations from the camera (I am using Win XP-Pro with all the latest updates installed). I don't have any need of the FinePix software, so I just copy/paste the photos from the camera to a folder on my desktop computer. However, when I copy/paste, the .jpg files (on the camera) become .bmp files when they appear on the desktop. I have software that will convert back to .jpg but would like to be able to avoid that extra work step.

That may be a Windows bug that has been around for years.
Microsoft has never fixed it.
Try this:
Delete all of your temporary Internet files.
(From Internet Explorer, click Tools/Internet Options/Browsing History/Delete/Temporary Internet Files/Delete files.)
After that is complete - Then try Copy/Paste
...
