No more optical drives

recently i noticed that all my optical drives do not work including my virtual ones.

system info:

xp 64
8800gt
lite on dvdrw shw-160p6s
evga 680i
10k 74gb hdd

1. Uninstall virtual drive software.

2. Delete the UPPERFILTERS and LOWERFILTERS via that common article you find at google about same. Sorry but no OS so I think you should search for the article specific to your OS.

Device Manager?

are the optical drives present in the xp device manager? if so right click each one (exept system disk of course) and select uninstall, then restart the machine and xp will reload the drivers for them....
