Hi guys.
I just recently downloaded some of the necessary files from pendrivelinux.com to run linux on my usb drive. All I need now is the actual ubuntu iso file. I have linux 7.04 already downloaded, but I'm not sure if it will work. I'm supposed to download ubuntu 7.10 from ubuntu.com, but I don't want to if it's not necessary and I can just use version 7.04 that I already have.
I hope I made myself clear. ![]()
Thanks.

But, Linux is the kernel. The current versions are 2.6.17 to 2.6.23. Older versions are available and a newer unstable tree is available.
Ubuntu is a distribution based on Debian, another distribution.
Gentoo was hacked into a pendrive/flash distribution; and, many distributions come with the option of installing to usb media.
You can use any distribution.
Again, Ubuntu is not Linux: it uses the Linux kernel.
