I am looking for a video compression software to convert dvd movies( i mean 2 to 3 movies on a single DVD), normally a good DVD carrys more than 7gb storage & i dont want to copy the same, I need a software to convert all types of file formats(ex: vob,avi,etc) to play on my DVD player at home ,I want to know can i convert them to DIVX format & can this be played on all types of players & PC's,
Please suggest me

I was a great supporter of divx in the old day but with the price of 20 cents per dvd media, I just do not see any advantage for it anymore (especially when you take into consideration of the time involved). That is just my thought.

However, most vcd that I run into are not copy protected and if that is your objective then I could say you can put many vcd into a dvd. You can try it and see if you like the quality or not.
