not working

by krimsonkameleon - 3/31/08 10:19 PM

I am using windows vista and I downloaded Java Version 6 Update 5 and it installed correctly. When I try to play any java games or pogo games I get a message that says Java Needed. In order to run our games java must be installed on your system. I un-installed and reinstalled java and I get the same message. I went to microsoft to look for a fix and I could not find one. I then tried to find a fix on Java.com and could not find one. Any clues on how to fix this issue?

I ran as administrator and would go to the java control panel and tick the browsers i wanted it for and it said i didn't have permission to change the settings or something to that effect. I installed the firefox browser and java worked fine. I figured it was one of the updates doing it. I installed home premium and haven't had the problem. But it was very annoying.

I turned off user account control and java works great, but when turned back on it stops java from working. So you might try that.
