Well, the first computer I used was an Apple][ However the first computer I owned was a home-built AMD 486DX4 66MHz box. Used it to surf BBSs on my dynamic coupler. "Would.you.like.to.play.a.game?"
First owned is an Apple Macinotosh SE, but first ever used is a little more modern. The first computer that I've had the pleasure of using I belive was an Acer, (no clue what model) that ran Microsoft Windows 3.1. It belonged to my dad and I destroyed it by putting a credit card in the Floppy Drive, and then trying to take it out with sciccors. (Trust me. . . really bad idea) *shrugs* I was a kid what can I say. ^_^
My first computer was a TRS-80 from Radio Shack (or Tandy here in Australia).
I spend days programming just to have colours flash on the screen and tones sound. It was fun.
I was pretty young. I remember that you had to save everything on 3.5" disks and we had a dot-matrix printer. Would have been 1987ish.
Timex Sinclair --> Vic-20 --> Atari 800 --> PC
my first one was a ZX-81 - http://oldcomputers.net/zx81.html, replaced a few years later with the much flyer timex sinclair 1000.
Most useless computer I ever owned. The specs impressed me... it seemed to have a lot of untapped potential, so I saved up. They dropped the price weeks after I bought it. By the time I'd saved up for any expansion modules, it was off the market. This was a theme to be repeated many times in my tech buying experience. (GEM, OS/2, Geoworks, Orb disks, Jaguar game console, BeOS, virtual boy etc etc etc)
I had an earlier TI that didn't have any tape storage so I'd spend hours writing programs knowing full well that I couldn't save it anywhere and it would be lost when I shut the computer down lol.
I have no idea, but...the first family computer was a basic desktop that my dad got through some surplus sale or similar from his company. that was probably back in '92-'93. I remember being able to play MS flight simulator and similar on it.
My own personal computer - Micron tower system back in 2000. My computer engineering roommates were a tad jealous 'cause their systems were slower

A small Black & White machine that included a 3.5'' floppy drive built into the monitor. I had it when I was just a kid, and at the time it had been a relic of the past. LOL It was given to me by my aunt. I remember many hours of playing monopoly on it. for the most part it was pretty useless during the time period I owned it, everyone else had computers running Windows 95, and higher capaity HDD's, and so on. It was fun to use though! And dude, that 30lb laptop you actually carried around places?!? Thats crazy!
My first computer was technically a timex-Sinclair, but that was quickly returned in favor of a used Commodore Pet.
IBM 486 when windows 95 came out.. had a CD drive and all ![]()
I have had this computer in a way since then (i consider it the same because one part from the old computer either a Card or motherboard or case has been passed from one version to the next) to my new computer a AMD 4800 with 2 gigs ram..
Don't remember the exact model but it had a black and white screen (grays too) it had a track ball for a mouse and it had a 2 Gig HD which seem huge at the time.... Sigh I now have 4 Gigs in my phone....
We played Wizardry and Zork (and other Infocom games)!
Somehow, those games seemed even more immersive than the most stunning 3D graphics games today.
