? Transfer data from LT with no picture ..?

by bugs755 - 3/24/08 8:20 PM

I have a Fujitsu laptop which was not shut down correctly. Next time it was turned on, there was no picture, and I have no way to access all my data. All my tax information is there & I need to get to it...somehow...and quickly! ?? I can see that the 'Hard Drive Access' indicator is in a 'steady' position ... which indicates that the HD is 'in use'...I think that means that my HD is working. ??

I do have another laptop that might be able to accept data (if able to be transferred), but it might be better to burn on to a disk (if possible). ?? I need help in finding out HOW I can do this, and what items I might need to do so.

Both LT's are able to burn data to CD's. Thank's in advance for your help ! :)

Thanks for responding. The damaged laptop is a Fujitsu lifebook C7651. The new laptop is a Compaq Presario V5000.

i forgot to check the track box, it never alerted me you replied. i could'nt find any tech specs on your compaq but i dont think they're fit. if your comfortable you can unscrew the hard drive panel yourself and see if the connectors from the fujitsu will line up with the compaq, if so change them and save those file to a disk or some other drive and back up all your files.if they dont fit, i would bring it to fire dog and have them recover does files i think its $40. i strongly recommend an external hd.
