1. Read http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-7595-0.html?forumID=71&threadID=34993&messageID=404279&tag=
2. The iPod with the Belkin recording addon may be what you want.
Bob
Do you want all the other bells and whistles of a full featured MP3? If not, the Olympus W10 or W20 will be fine for class recording.
Right now, good results are reported from users of the iRiver H320 or 340... the Neuros drives and others.
These are in the IPod price range and usually have more features like built-in mic for voice recording and maybe an FM receiver/recorder.
Check CNet.
('scuse me....I meant the Olympus DM10 or DM20 or even the Panasonic or Sony versions of their digital voice recorders.)
Neuros II from Digital Innovations.
It's not 'Digital Innovations' anymore, it is 'Neuros Audio'
But yes indeed . . .
It is over 3 years since this thread was live. I would appreciate guidance on best (modest priced) machine for voice recording (singing). I am looking for a machine to record tunes at choir practice (for learning purposes). No need to hi-fi. Ease of use and decent battery life would be key. I have seen very negative comments on some of the iPods but have no idea which way to go. (Oh, it is unlikely that I will use the machine for other purposes, if that makes a difference to recommendations.)
Thanks for any advice
I've also been searching for voice recorders and I don't find a clear winner. Because I'll be loaning them from a media center, things like software installs, proprietary file formats, cables and docks are a nuisiance to first time/one time users.
For now I've bought the iTalk for ipods.
