I just ran three lengths of CAT5e under my house to the three rooms. Each length is about 60 to 70 feet. I connected the lines to my wireless router (Netgear WGR614) and tested the lines with my lap top in each room. I get no connection in any of the rooms. Do i need a booster of some sort? Where do i find out what the longest lengths of wire I can run before I have problems?

The two computers I'm trying to hard wire are already connected wireless but the connection speed and strength varies and there are times when I'll lose connection all together. That's why I'm trying to hook them up via ethernet. My problem now is that I'm getting "limited or no connectivity" and I don't know why. System A is the closest to the modem with 5 feet of ethernet cable, works fine. System B is about 60 feet away and gets no signal. System C is also 60 feet away and gets no signal. All I get is "Aquiring address" and after a short while "Limited or no connectivity".
Did you update the firmware in the Netgear router?
Did you set the Netgear router up at all or just plug it in? It just doesn't work until you set it up.
Plug an ethernet cable into one of the numbered ports
plug the other end into your computer.
in the back of the router, you'll find a reset button, press and hold for 10 seconds.
Open Internet Explorer and in the address bar type
http://www.routerlogin.net/
username - admin
password = password
unless you changed it.
The wizard will now help you configure your router.
When you're done, click on Wireless settings
enable WPA security
enter a password. Use a combination of letters and numbers.
Leave SSID turned on
when finished click apply
click log out
Disconnect the ethernet cable. Plug the one end into your isp's modem/router and plug the other end into the Netgear router, plug without a number.
Please remember to update the firmware for you model number.
Now your configuration should look like this
wall > You isp modem/router > Netgear Wireless Router > wired/wireless
Now try it and see if you are connected.

but if you miss the connection, as in miss-wire the connector, you'll get no connection. Did you run bare wire and attach the connectors (RJ-45)? Or did you run wire that already had connectors?
The longest run for Cat-5 is about a thousand feet.
Sorry for the late response. I've tried everything Pudgyone suggested and still no signal.
I did run bare (no end connectors) wire to the rooms and installed the connectors to the end of the wire using the proper crimping tool. I also made sure to keep the wire color order the same for both ends. I will try a store bought length of cat5 and see if the result is any different. before that however, I will install two new plugs and see if that helps.
without the Netgear router. If so, the Netgear router is the issue.

After updating my router firmware and checking my wiring I am up and running in all rooms. After updating the firmware I tried one of the lines and it didn't work so I installed new plugs and it worked. I had a poor connection in one of the other rooms (kept losing connection) so I just replaced those plugs and that room is functioning well too. I just replaced the plugs in the last room and tested it and it worked fine (didn't want to chance it).

I have a time warner cable modem, a netgear router and airport express . I cannot get it to work, apple helped me set the airport express settings, the netgear default address that is indicated on line is 192.168.0.1 I have tried that with no success.

Many are unaware that keeping the same colors is not enough for CAT5 connections. PAIRING is also important. The PAIRS are NOT 1,2 3,4 5,6 and 7,8.
If you don't know the correct pairing then this explains another part of your issues.
