Why, when I am the only user and logged on as user/administrator, am I getting an "access denied you need permission" message when I try to delete the Windows Media Player folder. I would use Programs and Features if media player was listed there but it is not. I assume that is because it was installed along with Vista at the factory.
Try to change from Windows Vista to Windows XP or if you can find Windows Vista on 32 Bytes.
as such it can not be deleted.
Why would you want to, it's only 4.27meg.
You can can choose a different player as default if you prefer, so no need to remove it.
and reinstall it on d: because it hasn't been able to play ANY video since I installed Cowon Media center and because I am running low on space on c:.
better buy a larger hard disk.

First of all you cannot delete a system folder as mentioned by the previous person. But if you do not like Windows Media Player (WMP), you can disable it. Just like in XP you could go into add/remove programs and remove it from there. Similarly in vista you can log into Microsoft's Management Console (MMC) and disable it from there so that it may not pop up when a media file is played. In that case you assign one of your preferred programs to handle such files. If you need help in locating MMC, write back and we'll be glad to help.
