Me lost all support from Microsoft in the Summer of 2006

It is a very security vulnerable system at this point. I was using ME when it went out of date. It is obsolete. Your CPU maybe unable to run current programs as well. Perhaps now is the time for a new computer and OS. I'm sure you'd be very happy with a new system if you knew how much better they are. I am.

Many still use these older systems, however.

Upgrading OS

by Sputerkar - 2/27/08 7:23 PM In reply to: window me by rastapaul2000

The question with an ME system is will the BIOS and hardware be supported by XP? I doubt seriously that the same system would support Vista. So if you aren't planning on buying a new computer you need to research the BIOS support for you computer and will it support an upgrade and you all need to research you hardware/peripherals for XP os. In addition some of your software may not be compatible.

Actually tighter out of the security than XP.

There is no need to change if the system is doing what you need to do. Yes you may read "end of support" but did you use that support? I know I found it non-existent. The issues I found are still in the MS KB with "Microsoft is investigating" which is annoying. They were not killer problems so keep using it while you decide.
